“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat
In the early hours of this Friday in this Zacatecas city roadway, subjects who were allegedly escaping in vehicles from men who were pursuing them in other units threw the objects.
The metal caltrops known as “ponchallantas” were removed by elements of the Proximity Police and the Highway Police who went to the site after a report was made shortly after 5:00 in the morning.The objects were thrown into the street.
Investigative Police personnel also attended the event to file the corresponding report. It’s not known if any damage was caused to any vehicle, but by removing them before the traffic began to flow at this busy point, major damage was avoided.
The authorities did a tour of the area to rule out the possibility of more tire spikes in the area. No official information has been released by the authorities as to who threw the caltrops or who the perpetrators were of the possible shooting.
