70′ Jack Wighton off with a calf injury
Jack Wighton will play no further part for the injury-hit Souths side.
He is off with a calf injury, as per Fox Sports and will not return tonight.
Souths say it is a precaution, though.

69′ Keaon Koloamatangi sent to the sin bin
James Fisher-Harris kicked the ball from inside the 10 metres.
However, he was tackled by Keaon Koloamatangi not long after.
The kick – Fisher-Harris’ second of the game and sixth of his NRL career – was quite deep so it’s not a penalty try.
But the South Sydney man is off in the bin for the next 10 minutes.

67′ Liam Martin off for an HIA
He just got clipped on the side of the head by the knee of a South Sydney player.
He passed an on-field assessment before the TV doctor saw sense and hauled him off the field.

Magic
Don’t want to be a killjoy, but the rabbits will need to pull something special out of their hat if they want to catch the Panthers in the 2nd half

62′ Munro looks for a hattrick, denied by a dubious forward pass
Oh that’s a very rough call for Souths.
Munro was free on the left and was gifted a beautiful ball over the top by Jack Wighton.
However, the officiating team ruled that the ball went forward, but it was very much backwards out of the hand and drifted forward with momentum.
Tough call on Souths.

54′ Intercept for Munro!
Loose pass on the edge of the Souths 10 from Izack
Tago, and Tyrone Munro was gone!
Supreme pace, easy speed for the teenager, who has had a rough week with his mother passing on and, indeed, a rough season after so many injuries.
Munro had a grin on his face with about 70 metres to go, so sure was he that he wouldn’t be caught.
It wasn’t misplaced belief.
The kick is good and Souths are just about hanging in there, 28-12.

31′ Jye Gray denied try
So close for the young Souths fullback.
Jye Gray burrowed towards the line but was ruled on-field to have been just short and the Bunker says there’s not enough evidence to overturn that decision.
That looks rough, it looks to me like he probably got that over, but probably is not enough.
Meanwhile, in the build up to that decision, Peter Mamouzelos slammed his head into the ground and has had to go off for an HIA.

46′ Turuva is over again!
The Panthers go bang-bang!
Jarome Luai got the ball on the back foot from a Paul Alamoti dummy, threw an unconvincing dummy and then took off, past the non-existent Souths defence.
He passes a perfect ball onto the chest of Sunia Turuva, who races over to score in the corner!

Alamoti misses the last kick, but nails this one.
It’s 28-6.

43′ Panthers strike immediately after the restart
Start as the way you mean to go on.
Sunia Turuva has crashed over in the corner to score his first try of the night and get the home side off and running in the most positive way.
A fantastic score and the Panthers lead 22-6.
Tom Trbojevic to miss next week with AC joint injury
Briefly back to Homebush, where Anthony Seibold was pretty chuffed with his side’s performance.
But did confirm that Tom Trbojevic will miss next week with an AC joint.
However, Seibold only expects him to miss a week and to return for the first week of the finals.

Here’s what he said to ABC Radio.
“We can still try and get a home semi which is our goal next week,” he said.
“[We’ll] see how Turbo is, if he’s not there, we’ll just deal with whatever cards are thrown our way.”

41′ We’re back underway with the second half
Dylan Edwards kicks deep and Tom Burgess brings it back before being crunched by the Panthers defence.
Melbourne’s Ryan Papenhuyzen a chance to play against Brisbane next week
-with AAP

While it’s half time in Penrith, let’s just get a bit of housekeeping out the way.
Melbourne star Ryan Papenhuyzen is a chance of playing in Melbourne’s final game of the NRL regular season, after scans cleared the luckless fullback of a serious leg injury.
Papenhuyzen lasted less than 15 minutes in Thursday’s 38-30 loss to North Queensland in Townsville, pulled from the game after grabbing at his leg following a scramble to bring the ball out of his in-goal area.
But scans later revealed he had suffered bone bruising and will be monitored ahead of next Thursday’s clash against Brisbane.
“Our medical staff will see how the issue settles over the next few days before making a decision on whether he plays against the Broncos next Thursday night,” said Storm director of football Frank Ponissi.
Craig Bellamy confirmed he would pick his strongest team for the final-round clash against Brisbane, who need to win both their remaining games to be any chance of finishing in the top eight.
HT: Panthers in control against the Rabbitohs

The Rabbitohs are not out of this by any means.
But they just don’t have the fire power against one of the competition front runners, who are well worth their 18-6 lead.
Penrith are just too slick and the defence of the Rabbitohs too vulnerable.
That being said, the Panthers are not in top form and the longer the Rabbitohs hang in there, with Cody Walker digging into his bag of tricks to confuse the Panthers defence, there could be a chance of an upset in this second 40.

I didn’t like it
…. an appalling decision by the bunker to deny To’o’s try ! Dreadful officiating.
– Old timer
Cody Walker definitely milked it…
And look, according to the law, it was probably the correct decision.
But you know what they say about the law…

33′ Tyrone Munro!
Oh that’s a wonderful try!
Munro, who lost his mother earlier in the week, has scored Souths’ opener.
It’s a lovely kick from Cody Walker, a kick over the top on the run, catching the Panthers out and Munroe gathered on the bounce to score in the corner.

All the Souths players get around him, as they well might, and that’s a really nice score for the Rabbitohs.
A terrific kick from Fletcher Myers to split the uprights.
It’s 18-6.

33′ Brian To’o! What a score! Except it’s not
It’s only his fourth run of the game, and it was worth waiting for!
Quick hands to the right, the ball finds itself in the hands of Brian To’o outside the 20.
He then bursts through a gap, ran at Jye Gray, who tackled him six metres out, but To’o stayed up, kept pumping the legs and somehow managed to reach over.
Oh my, there was an obstruction was there?
Hmmmm, one of those letter of the law ones where the defender (Cody Walker) had no chance of actually making any difference but was marginally impeded.
It’s no try and that’s a shame for To’o.

31′ Cody Walker on his haunches
Not ideal for the Rabbitohs, with their skipper on the ground just holding his shoulder after being tackled.
He slid forwards after passing wide out to Tyrone Munroe, and then struggled to get back up.
But he’s back in the line now.
Something to keep an eye on for this injury hit Souths side.

26′ Lovely try from the Panthers

They’ve not had much ball.
They’ve not had much territory.
But when they are up the Bunnies’ end, they use it well.
Lovely ball from Jarome Luai off the boot and Brad Schneider was on hand to dive on the ball over the line.
A genuine threading of the needle by Luai, there was such a fine margin of error there and Luai just nailed it.

Wonderful kick.
The extras are added and it’s 18-0.
