7′ Tanah Boyd goes down without contact

By Michael Doyle

Oh no.

This looks bad.

The Warriors are attacking the goal-line.

Halfback Tanah Boyd takes a run, and before he gets to the defence, he starts limping.

We will try to find out what the issue is, but it looks like a knee injury.

Boyd was able to walk off the field, but he is limping. That may have been a walk of defiance.

Te Maire Martin comes on.

KICK-OFF: Warriors vs Broncos

By Michael Doyle

James Fisher-Harris takes the first run of the match for the Warriors, and he is met by a strong Broncos defensive line.

The Warriors have an incident-free set and kick clear.

The Broncos are booed onto Lang Park

By Michael Doyle

This match is registered as a Warriors home game, and it feels like it at Brisbane’s Lang Park.

Broncos captain Adam Reynolds has led his side onto their home patch to a chorus of boos and jeers.

This is great.

Lang Park is is at fever pitch ahead of Warriors vs Broncos

By Michael Doyle

The crowd was good, but certainly not full for the kick-off between the Titans and Knights.

But Lang Park is approaching fever pitch as the Warriors and Broncos approach.

Tino Fa’asuamaleaui joins ABC Sport

By Michael Doyle

It is another tough loss for the Gold Coast Titans.

They were on top for long periods of that match, before going down to the Newcastle Knights 36-12.

Captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui summed up his emotion with ABC Sport.

It was very disappointing. Just little error in defence.

The score shouldn’t have been that.

FULL-TIME: Newcastle Knights 36 def. Gold Coast Titans 12

By Michael Doyle

The Newcastle Knights have scored six tries in the second half to down the Gold Coast Titans at Magic Round.

Scores were level at 6-all at half-time, with the Titans at times looking more likely to lead the contest.

But the Titans faded in the second half, and the Knights made them pay.

Knights winger Dom Young scored a hat-trick for the Knights, while fellow winger Greg Marzhew changed the game with a 90-metre intercept try.

73′ TRY: Dom Young has a hat-trick for the Knights

By Michael Doyle

Dom Young has scored in the right corner off a scrum.

That is a hat-trick for the English winger.

The Titans had a scrum on their own 10-metre line, but the pass from the scrum bounced on the ground, and Jojo Fifita knocked on.

Off the subsequent scrum, the Knights had a set play to the right, and Young scored in the corner.

69′ TRY: Fletcher Sharpe scores for the Knights

By Michael Doyle

Newcastle Knights centre Fletcher Sharpe has run 40 metres to score.

The Kngihts shifted to the left, and Sharpe just used his speed to run through a gap, and no Titan was quick enough to catch him.

It has all come undone for the Titans.

67′ TRY: Dane Gagai catches the Titans napping

By Michael Doyle

Brilliant from Dane Gagai.

Kalyn Ponga was tackled, 20 metres from the Titans’ goal-line.

Gagai picked up the ball at dummy-half, and saw that there was no one defending the short side.

Titans five-eighth Jayden Campbell wasn’t watching and Gagai just ran past him, and there were no Titan defenders until Gagai got to the goal-line.

The Knights should win this from here.

62′ TRY: Dom Young has a second try for the Knights

By Michael Doyle

Very nice from the Knights, but poor tackling from the Titans.

A line break on the left wing by Greg Marzhew had the Titans’ defence in trouble.

The Knights go from the left wing to the right.

Titans winger Philip Sami came in to tackle Dane Gagai. Sami missed, and Gagai passed to an unmarked Dom Young.

Young charged to the line, beat the tackle attempt of Gold Coast fullback Keano Kini, and scored the try.

57′ TRY: Kurtis Morrin scores for the Titans

By Michael Doyle

The Gold Coast needed that.

Attacking the line, the Titans get a quick play-the-ball and the Knights’ defence is scattered.

Kurtis Morrin charges onto a short pass, spins out of a tackle, and grounds the footy.

Great response from the Titans after conceding two tries that they should not have given up.

52′ TRY: Dom Young scores for the Knights

By Michael Doyle

A high bomb from the Knights’ fullback Kalyn Ponga was not caught by the Titans, and the Knights gather it.

The Knights go from the left to the right of the field.

Right winger Dom Young has the footy, chips for himself.

Titans centre AJ Brimson is there to catch the ball, he drops it, and Dom Young grounds the ball.

46′ TRY: Greg Marzhew scores an intercept try for the Knights

By Michael Doyle

It looked like the Titans were going to score.

Attacking the goal-line on the final play, Keano Kini went for the cut-out pass.

It was intended for Phillip Sami, but Greg Marzhew picked off the pass and ran 90 metres to score for the Knights.

Kalyn Ponga kicks the goal from near the left touchline.

Second half of Titans vs Knights begins

By Michael Doyle

The Titans have the first use of the footy in the second half.

It is a good set from the Titans, who get to their kick without any issue.

HT: Titans 6-6 Knights

By Michael Doyle

A very entertaining match is poised nicely at half-time.

The Titans took the early lead, and the Knights scored with 13 minutes left before the break.

Both sides had plenty more chances, but the execution has just eluded each team.

38′ Titans miss a big chance

By Michael Doyle

A lovely pass from prop Tino Fa’asuamaleaui has put Kurtis Morrin through a hole.

Morrin passes inside to hooker Oliver Pascoe, but the pass is a little in front of him and he cannot catch it.

32′ Jojo Fifita drops the ball over the line

By Michael Doyle

Titans centre Jojo Fifita goes very close to scoring.

Three Knights are trying to tackle him, but Fifita has got over the line.

But he grounds the ball on the head of Knights winger Greg Marzhew, who smartly (by accident) had his noggin in the way.
