A Hong Kong taxi fleet has terminated its collaboration with a driver after a cab stopped in the middle of the road in Tsuen Wan for two passengers to alight and take their suitcases out from the boot, with authorities requesting a report from the operator.
A video circulating on social media on Friday shows the two passengers, each with two suitcases, crossing two lanes of traffic on Castle Peak Road near Global Plaza to reach the pavement.
Buses and other vehicles are seen passing by both sides of the taxi, which had stopped in the middle of the road.

The video drew a slew of critical comments online, with some saying the driver and the passengers were “ignoring all rules” and “I am baffled as to why they could just stop there”.
The vehicle carried the branding of the Amigo taxi fleet.
In a statement on Friday, Amigo said a preliminary investigation found the passengers had booked an airport-bound trip from Ma On Shan through an online platform, but had repeatedly issued instructions to the driver along the route after boarding.
