On Thursday, the Supreme Court sent shockwaves through the Leftist community when it ruled that the Trump administration could bring an end to TPS immigration recipients. At the heart of the ruling — and the amusing crux for those outraged on the Left — is that letter “T.” The “Temporary” aspect of Temporary Protected Status was in play for those seeking refuge here in the States from natural disasters or an outbreak of violence, for example, in a non-permanent fashion.

Amid all of the vocal performances following the decision, one constant was the use of the acronym, and very little in the way of analysis of the definition, as this would derail the blathering narratives. A shining example of this comes from Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA), who manages to make the case for the SCOTUS ruling while complaining about it.

The Supreme Court has once again gotten it wrong, breaking from the spirit of the of the law and Congress’ intent. In a massive blow to our communities, they just greenlit Trump’s plan to strip TPS from thousands of people who have fled humanitarian crises, some who have been living and working in the US for decades.

This is devastating to people who have built their lives here. I will not stop fighting for a pathway to citizenship for families across America.

Notice he does not want “living in the US for decades” and the word “temporary” to collide in his rant. That is a cold fact that needs to be ignored. But Padilla delivers another harsh contradiction in this concern over the people from Haiti. He directly implies that it is problematic to have any Haitian residents being returned to their native land, out of safety concerns. Huh.

It was back in 2018, during his first term in the White House, when President Trump was accused of using language that was described as “shocking” and “racist” (of course), when discussing the Caribbean island nation. In a meeting with members of both parties to discuss immigration decisions, Trump used a vulgar toss-off term to describe conditions at some named nations, describing them as “all of these sh**-hole countries.”

Haiti was among those countries being discussed, and the remark had numerous politicians and even international groups, like the U.N. (yawn), getting their knickers in a twist. Our then-ambassador to the country also had remarks about the comment.

Haiti Ambassador to the U.S. Paul G. Altidor called Trump’s comments “regrettable” and based on “clichés and stereotypes rather than actual fact.”

And yet now today, many of those same figures who castigated Trump for his descriptions of Haiti are perfectly comfortable echoing his assessment of the island, to demonize the SCOTUS decision. Senator Padilla announces that the concept of Haitians going back would be something of a horror. His description of things in that country as a “humanitarian crisis” is a telling description.

Padilla’s 180 was echoed by his boss in the Senate, Chuck Schumer (D-NY). According to Chuckles, he too states it would be “inhumane” for Haitians to return to Haiti.

Also getting in on the shaming of Haiti was Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) (“imminent danger in Haiti”);  Rep. Yasmine Ansari of Arizona’s 3rd District (“people who fled war and disaster”); Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico’s 1st District (“people seeking refuge from war, violence, and persecution”); and Governor Mike DeWine of Ohio (“The situation in Haiti could hardly be much worse.  The violent gangs run most of the country.  The government barely functions.  And, the economy is in shambles”).

The press has been no more delicate in the descriptions. Amid the claims that this will be harsh for any who are sent back, we get told by the elevated thinkers at MS NOW that this will be tantamount to a death sentence for anyone returning to Haiti.

My, based on all of these descriptions delivered by the experts, Haiti is starting to sound like a crap-maw of a country. Consider me aghast to see these comments, as I have it on authority that this type of talk about the nation of Haiti is crude, inhumane, and racist; that authority would be many of these very same voices.

Allow me to counter their intolerance and bigotry towards the denizens of that nation by reminding them that we have been reliably assured that Haiti is a tropical Caribbean paradise, one resplendent with crystalline beaches and cultural richness.

Unless we were sold a false narrative as a means of opposing President Trump in a reactionary fashion…

Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left’s lies, new legislation wasn’t needed to secure our border, just a new president.
