This is why good people don’t want to get involved in politics.

In its never-ending quest to find a “gotcha” on President Trump for having the nerve to be elected president – and, let’s not forget, defeating two female candidates from their preferred political party – the media has been hounding his executive assistant, Natalie Harp, for no apparent reason.

They’re trying to make a “there” where this is no “there,” but that reality won’t stop them.

They were led here like lemmings by Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA), who randomly (?) dropped a reference to Harp in a speech to hint at an inappropriate relationship between her and the president. Here’s what he said:

“See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.”

His motivation may have been to challenge Gavin Newsom for the Real Men – real creepy men – of the Democrat Party title, but he just looked like a smarmy little creep punching down at a woman for laughs. (And the audience laughed because of course they did.)

Maybe Ossoff is testing the waters for a ’28 run by saying outlandish things or maybe he’s just that much of a jerk? Two things can be true at once.

CNN’s Kristen Holmes, not content to let this juicy topic die, then picked up the baton from Ossoff and proceeded to ask the president about the comments during an Oval Office question and answer session.

Trump answered the inappropriate question – Holmes did it in front of two boys who were being honored at the White House – calmly, thoroughly, and then moved on to another question.

CNN, however, cannot move on, and seemingly happy to twist the proverbial knife into Harp even more, found her estranged brother under a rock somewhere. They trotted him out on Tuesday night to make earth-shattering revelations like this:

An SUV trunk? You mean she climbed into the back part of a Suburban in order to do her job? The horror! I suspect other DC staffers have done much worse than hitch an uncomfortable ride. Maybe even CNN staffers?

Our friends over at sister site Townhall nailed it:

What Jon Ossoff, CNN, and the rest of those salivating over this non-troversy want is to portray Natalie Harp as a Fatal Attraction-type character who has an inappropriate relationship with her powerful boss. That kind of scandal, in their warped minds, is just what they need to bring down the Trump presidency.

Here’s the dirty little secret they won’t tell you: on the daily, CNN has on guests who’ll go much farther than an uncomfortable SUV ride or long days on the job in order to be close to power for their selfish means. It seems a whole lot like Natalie Harp does it because she wants the president to succeed.

Before this week, I didn’t know much about Natalie Harp. I knew she helped the president with his Truth Social posts and that she wasn’t on the “decoy” Air Force One that left Turkey last month. Maybe a jealous staffer who was on the decoy decided to exact some revenge? That’s about it.

Harp isn’t a cable-news celebrity. She isn’t out there chasing book deals or TikToking her every move (paging AOC). By all appearances, she works long hours behind the scenes for a president she believes in, and that makes her the perfect soft target for the drive-by media.

Maybe Natalie Harp’s greatest offense is simply being loyal to Donald Trump and not caring whether the people at CNN approve or not. And, for that, she must be destroyed.
