On Monday night, November 28, a fire broke out on the island of Holbox, in Quintana Roo, according to videos that quickly circulated on social networks.
Authorities reported that the flames consumed the palapas of the Casa Tortugas hotel and according to Governor Mara Lezama, one person was injured.
“Referring to the fire in #Holbox. I have a report of a young person injured, currently being attended, no serious injuries. The @GobQuintanaRoo, has made available all resources to address the situation. The fire is being controlled, the fire is being suffocated,” he mentioned.
