The Graham Platner story just keeps getting grosser and grosser, and following a serious rape allegation that rocked his campaign for incumbent Susan Collins’ Maine Senate seat, many of those like Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders were left with egg on their faces for supporting him all this time.

Democrats and leftists have shown over and over that they’ve thrown their moral compasses out the window in their desperate bid to win in the midterms. They have minimized and glossed over Platner’s behavior as more and more troubling information dropped — a Nazi tattoo, claims that he bullied women, racist social media posts, and more. Only now that the rape accusation has emerged have many of them finally pulled their support.
But not Maine’s legendary horror author Stephen King. No, for the once-revered writer of “Carrie” and “The Shining,” who is now seen by many as more of a foaming-at-the-mouth extremist than a credible author, he fantasized that Platner would stay in the race anyway.
He’s since deleted his twisted social media post, but the internet lives forever:

Frankly, it makes me sad to watch people whose work I used to enjoy descend into Trump Derangement Syndrome psychosis. I used to crank out “Born to Run” back in the day, but Bruce Springsteen has turned into a toxic, hate-spewing caricature of himself. Actor Robert de Niro has some of the all-time great movies under his belt, but his legacy may end up being defined by his spittle-flecked tirades where he looks like he needs to be marched to a rubber room.
There are too many others to mention.
I remember a chunk of a summer long ago reading King’s uncut version of “The Stand,” which clocked in at 1,152 pages, and I was mesmerized. He’s written so many of the great horror books of all time: “The Shining,” “Misery,” “It,” and more. And yet here he is, supporting an alleged rapist and woman abuser just so the Left can win one more seat in the Senate.
His next book should be titled, “Sick.”

Of course, King tried to walk it back, but only made it worse by trying the “but other people do bad things too” strategy. That doesn’t mean what Platner did is acceptable, Mr. King, nor does it mean that a man like that should ever set foot in the United States Senate.

It’s too late, Stephen. You can’t just walk something like that and try to blame other people. You’ve shown who you really are, and it’s a sad coda to your wonderful writing career.
