Teams hit the field

By Nick Campton

Yeo and Williams lead them out, both carrying wreaths for Remembrance Day and the teams line up for the Last Post and the anthems.

Tips

By Nick Campton

It’s impossible to go past Australia given how easily they’ve won the first two Tests while still being below their best. But I am expecting a better performance from England, they’ll be desperate to restore some pride.

Let’s go Australia by 10 with Shibasaki to score the first try and how about…..Herbie Farnworth, who will hopefully be back on the left, to score one for England.

No rest for the wicked

By Nick Campton

Hello Nick, going by the full strength selection it looks like Kev Walters and the group are taking this “dead rubber” seriously and going all out for the white wash – good on ’em

– Mike

G’day Mike – totally agree, I’ve found some of the discourse around that decision quite strange. While it would have been interesting to see some fresh faces get a run (I’d love to see how Moses and Walsh would play together, for example) I think it’s a good thing that jerseys aren’t just being handed out. Gotta earn them.

Live pics from Headingley

By Nick Campton

We’re back in rugby league heartland for this Test – after bumper crowds at Wembley and the new Everton Stadium the last two weeks (both exceeded 50,000) we’re at the 21,000 capacity Headingley.

But it looks to be a proper English rugby league experience, which I can appreciate. Have a go at some of the live pics coming in of fans heading into the ground – transportive stuff.

Final teams: Australia vs England

By Nick Campton

No funny business from Kevin Walters – as expected, he’s named a full strength side with Isaah Yeo returning at lock and Lindsay Smith dropping out of the team the only change from last week.

England have a few changes from last week – Jake Wardle is out with Harry Newman in at centre and Dom Young’s ankle injury mean Joe Burgess is back on the wing for his first Test in a decade. There’s also a tweak on the bench with Mikey Lewis dropped for Daryl Clark.

Hello and welcome to the third Ashes Test blog!

By Nick Campton

Hi, I’m Nick Campton – you might remember from such live blogs as last week’s Ashes Test and now, in the wee small hours, we’re gonna do it all again.

With the Kangaroos taking a 2-0 series lead into Headingley they’ve already wrapped up the series but given England’s desperation to restore some pride there’s still plenty to keep an eye on tonight.

I’ll be with you every step of the way with all the news, stats and everything else you’ll need to get a piece of the action. It’s getting late, but we’ll make it through together.
