Fremantle has defeated North Melbourne by 124 points to claim the biggest win in its history.

The Dockers kicked the last 19 goals of the game to demolish a poor Kangaroos side 24.11 (155) to 4.7 (31) in Bunbury.

Later, the spotlight will be on back-to-back premiers Brisbane, as they head down the highway to meet the Suns at Carrara.

Tonight the focus switches to Perth, where West Coast will play Port Adelaide.

Ben King nails another one from the opposite pocket

By Andrew McGarry

That’s a better start for the Suns.

An early clearance, then the ball bobbling around but pressure was there for Gold Coast, and Bailey Humphries hit up Ben King deep in the left forward pocket.

His first kick was a belter from the opposite side, and this time he again nails it from the pocket.

That will get the fans up and about.

The Suns are back within a kick!

QT: Brisbane 4.3 (27) leads Gold Coast 2.2 (14)

The siren sounds, and if you were Damien Hardwick and the Suns, you would definitely take that scoreline.

The home side have rarely been in the game in that first quarter, and to find themselves a tick over two goals down is a pretty decent spot, all things considering.

That margin covers a multitude of sins, however,

The Lions have been able to move the ball fairly easily against the Suns, and they will need to tighten up at the back or the likes of Logan Morris will have an absolute field day.

What a goal from Mac Andrew

By Andrew McGarry

The Suns big men are among the few performers in the early stages here.

Ned Moyle has been important in the ruck, and he took a mark on the wing and set up an attack which led to Mac Andrew taking an intercept mark outside 50.

And Andrew went back and boomed a brilliant right to left kick that went through!

The Suns have not had much to cheer about, but that was something!

Ferocious pace at Carrara

By Andrew McGarry

This game is being played at a million miles an hour, by both sides.

From the Suns point of view, they might want to pay a bit of attention to Lachie Neale, who already has 13 disposals to his name.

The Suns need some composure – quickly

By Andrew McGarry

Gold Coast’s disposal has been pretty shocking so far today, and their level of composure has been lacking.

Wrong choices, poor kicks.

When you’re playing your rival – even at home – that’s not a great recipe.

Ben King gives the Suns a kick-start

By Andrew McGarry

Well, that was much-needed for the Suns!

Bodhi Uwland was in strife inside D50 for Gold Coast, but he managed to shut things down before the Lions could have another shot, and he got the ball out.

The Suns proceeded to go coast-to-coast, ending up with a big kick to Ben King near the boundary inside forward 50.

His kick was perfect, from a very difficult angle.

It’s taken them more than half a quarter to kick a goal. They need a few more, because the Lions are well up and running here.

Another for Logan Morris! It’s all Brisbane!

By Dean Bilton

Pressure too hot, clearances all going one way, Suns defence making errors and it’s all adding up to one thing.

Noble panicked in the goalsquare there and handballed straight to Morris. Morris did not panic, and instead stepped inside onto his left foot for an easy goal. Four in a row Brisbane.

Logan Morris makes it three in a row for the Lions

By Dean Bilton

Really hot start for Brisbane now. That was so slick from end to end, the Suns unable to defend the transition at all.

The set shot from Morris was outside 50 on a decent angle. No sweat for Logan.

Sat 6 Jun 2026 at 5:22pm

Charlie Cameron is on the board now too

By Dean Bilton

Never looked like missing off the boot, gorgeous set shot from Charlie. 40 metres out on a tricky angle, that is perfection.

Suns are butchering the ball going forward and the Lions look up for the challenge physically. Some big tackles have set the scene for Brisbane.

Jarrod Berry kicks an early Brisbane opener

By Dean Bilton

Easy as that! The spearing kick inside 50 was meant for the chest of Cameron, but Berry chopped it off and casually played on to snap an easy goal.

Strange first minute, all too easy for the Lions.

Ready to rumble in QClash 31

By Dean Bilton

We’ve got some technical difficulties at McGarry HQ, so you’re stuck with me for the start of this one.

Absolutely glorious evening on the Gold Coast, perfect footy conditions. No excuses for what is a very important game for both sides. Ball is in the air, here we go.

Recent results between Gold Coast and Brisbane

By Andrew McGarry

  • SF, 2025: Brisbane by 53 (Gabba)
  • R21, 2025: Gold Coast by 66 (Carrara)
  • R9, 2025: Brisbane by 17 (Gabba)
  • R21, 2024: Brisbane by 28 (Carrara)
  • R9, 2024: Brisbane by 34 (Gabba)
  • R20, 2023: Gold Coast by 41 (Carrara)

It’s not secret that the Q-Clash has been largely a one-sided rivalry, results-wise, so far.

Today is the 31st meeting between the two Queensland rivals. So far, the ledger is Brisbane 22, Gold Coast 8.

The Suns have won two out of the last 15 encounters, but both those victories have come in the last six games.

The home side will be hoping today turns out more like last year’s game at this venue, rather than the disappointing big loss to the Lions in finals.

Teams are in for Suns vs Lions

By Andrew McGarry

(AFL.com.au)

There are no late changes for either side.

Both teams have made three changes overall. The Suns have made them by choice, with Zeke Uwland, Nick Holman and Sam Clohesy losing their spots after Gold Coast’s disappointing loss to the Kangaroos, giving up a 43-point lead.

In come debutant Jai Murray, Will Graham and Lachie Weller. Gold Coast Academy midfielder Murray was taken at pick 187 in last year’s draft.

The Lions have had two of their three changes forced upon them. A calf injury to Hugh McCluggage and a hamstring injury to Keidean Coleman means they miss out, while first-year player Cody Curtin is omitted.

Darragh Joyce, Shadeau Brain and James Tunstill come in.

Here’s how the ladder sits

By Andrew McGarry

This article contains content that is not available.

That win puts Fremantle two wins ahead of Sydney, and brings their percentage up close to the Swans.

Sydney will face St Kilda tomorrow, but they’ll be hard pressed to produce as dominant a performance as that one that the Dockers have put out.

It’s time for the Q-Clash

By Andrew McGarry

Well, that was unexpected, even for the ladder leaders, to be that dominant.

But now it’s time to switch our focus across to the east coast, and Carrara, where Gold Coast and Brisbane are set to go at it in the Q-Clash.

FT: Fremantle smashes North Melbourne in biggest win in club history

By Andrew McGarry

The siren sounds, and the Dockers have their biggest win in club history, beating the Kangaroos by 124 points, 24.11 (155) to 4.7 (31).

Freo kicked 11.7 to 0.3 in the second half, and that just about sums it up.

The Dockers have 12 wins in a row, and they have send a huge warning to the rest of the league. Watch out, here comes Freo!

For the Kangaroos, it’s been a day to forget, and showing up how much of a gap there is between them and the top sides.

Hayden Young grabs a second as Dockers bag 18th in a row

By Andrew McGarry

We’re well into time on, and the game stopped being in the balance about two quarters ago, but the Dockers are not taking their foot off the pedal.

Another rush inside 50, and Hayden Young has snapped one from the top of the square.

The lead is out to 117 points, and Fremantle has kicked the last 18 goals. Eighteen!

A couple of misses from Fremantle, but the chances are still coming

By Andrew McGarry

Jye Amiss has missed a couple of shots in the last few minutes, but he and the rest of the Dockers attack are loving the delivery.

Fremantle are up to 21 marks inside 50. The Kangaroos simply can’t stop them.
