“Ivan” for Borderland Beat 

The Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) in coordination with the Durango State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE) dismantled two clandestine laboratories used for the manufacture of synthetic drugs in Tamazula, securing more than 6 tons of chemical precursors.

The Navy supported with two air units the actions of the SSPE in the vicinity of the town of “Huejotita”, in Tamazula.

According to Semar, 800 liters of mixed precursor chemicals, 350 liters of P2P precursor (amphetamine and methamphetamine precursor), 200 liters of toluene, 150 kilograms of sodium hydroxide, 150 liters of benzyl chloride, 50 liters of acetic acid, 50 liters of formaldehyde, 4,000 liters of benzyl cyanide and 500 kilograms of ammonium chloride were found in the laboratories.

“Both laboratories, as well as the chemical precursors and other material, were destroyed on site by incineration, with prior authorization from the competent authority, for the integration of the corresponding investigation file”, informed the agency.
