“I, Dairo Antonio Úsuga David, accused, have been informed that an (information of accusation – complaint) is pending against me for the cause designated above. I wish to plead guilty to the offense charged, to consent to the disposition of the case in the Eastern District of New York in which I, Dairo Antonio Úsuga David, (under arrest and detainee), and to waive trial in the aforementioned district,” it reads. The document is signed by the Clan del Golfo leader and his lawyer and was approved by two US prosecutors.

In addition to Otoniel’s signature, there is that of his lawyer, that of a witness, and that of the assistant United States attorney. It was also revealed that the prosecutors of the Eastern Districts of New York and the Southern District of Florida would have approved the request to advance the stage of acceptance of guilt and sentencing.

The sister of Otoniel was extradited last July to Florida. In December 2022, Nini Johana Úsuga David, also known as “La Negra,” reached an agreement with the United States justice and accepted charges of drug trafficking in the Clan del Golfo criminal organization. She also promised to collaborate in other investigations. La Negra explained that she took over the maintenance of real estate acquired with illicit money.
Clan del Golfo States Ceasefire is Not Being Respected
The General Staff of the Clan del Golfo also denounced that the Monitoring, Verification, and Ceasefire mechanism is not operating, because their spokespersons have not even met with the national government.
In a statement, the General Staff of the Clan del Golfo denounced that the national government was not complying with the ceasefire decreed with this armed group, warning that since it began some of its members have been discharged or captured.
