El F25, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel’s regional leader on the borders of Jalisco and Zacatecas, was captured by elements of the Secretariat of National Defense, reported journalist Angel Martinez on his Twitter account.
According to the state news agency AMG Noticias, El F25 was arrested in the town of Tequila in the state of Jalisco as part of recent operations in which 20 members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel were captured. They were also found with an arsenal and had 2 individuals abducted in the municipality of Tizapan El Alto.
The aforementioned media reports that El F25, whose name isn’t provided, is the head of the Jalisco New Generation – Gulf Cartel alliance in the state of Zacatecas.
“That fool was the one who integrated all of southern Zacatecas to the Jalisco gunmen. They deserve it,” Twitter user Juan Camanay responded to reporter Angel Martinez’s post. A Facebook page linked to Mayo Zambada’s Sinaloa Cartel’s Operativa MZ published a photograph attributed to F25, who they say used to belong to the Gulf Cartel and now belongs to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
In the state of Zacatecas there is currently a bloody confrontation between the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and the Sinaloa Cartel of the Mayo Zambada faction for control of the state. On November 10, members of the Mexican army clashed with members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel who barricaded themselves in a safe house in the municipality of Tizapan El Alto, where they were arrested.
In the same environment, locals reported several military operations in the region that left several people detained. It is not known if El F25 was detained after the confrontation in Tizapan El Alto or in any of the military operations implemented by federal forces. So far, the Ministry of National Defense hasn’t provided any details on this matter. No information has been provided.
