Jacob Konstanty pulls one back for North
By Dean Bilton
By Dean Bilton
Now it’s North Melbourne’s turn to find a critical red-time goal. Konstanty, who has been involved in a few little scraps with former teammates this arvo, gets the crumbs and snaps an important goal.
It’s only 13 points with a minute to play in the third.
Angus Sheldrick with another one for the Swans

Yep, it’s happening now. North Melbourne looking tired and are making poor decisions with the ball, and the Swans are so good at punishing turnover.
Bad handball by Simpkin in a dangerous spot turns quickly into a Sheldrick snap and goal. They’re out by 19 points now.
Chalk up another one for Isaac Heeney

Was the ball knocked out in the tackle or was Logue caught holding the ball? The latter, according to the umpire, and Heeney is rewarded.
It’s turning.
Zane Duursma with a quick response for North!

The Swans are threatening to run away here, but on each occasion the Roos have been able to find something to keep themselves alive.
Spargo was clean and quick with his hands and Duursma was classy with the snap on the run. Swans lead by just a goal.
Jake Lloyd converts for the Swans

All about Nick Blakey there. Another surging run and clever kick from The Lizard to set up a Sydney goal. They are finding success through the corridor now, which wasn’t the case in the first half.
Sydney finding some answers in the third.
Tom Blamires pulls one back for North

By Dean Bilton
Been a lot of wild blazing inside 50 from North players in this quarter, but McKercher broke that mould be picking off a perfect pass to Blamires in space in the pocket.
Blamires finishes the job with the set shot and North are back within a kick.
Billy Cootee makes it three in a row for Sydney

It can happen so quickly for the Swans. And for the first time all game, the North defence looked a little slow and tired as the Swans can flying through the middle by hand.
Are they breaking them down here? Can North offer another response?
Chad Warner intercept and goal!

Cam Zurhaar just took much too long to pick the ball up and dish it off, and Warner read the play to perfection. He picked off the pass and snapped the goal in one movement.
Not been Warner’s day yet, but that was a moment of class. Swans back in front.

Grundy and Papley have done it again! Second time today the pair have combined for a perfect tap and goal play from a forward 50 throw in. Xerri beaten by Grundy, Daniel lost Papley, queue celebration.
Scores level at Docklands.
Paul Curtis gives North a dream start to the second half

Yet again, North’s success comes from its pressure and its ability to stick tackles. Sheezel out of the middle, Edwards picks up the ground ball, smashed by Curtis in the tackle, holding the ball.
He drills the goal and extends the lead.
Logan McDonald kicks his third for Sydney

They’ve done it again, the Swans. Late goals in quarters have been killing the Roos, who are unable to see out the term without offering up one more chance to McDonald.
Logan nails it and it’s going to be a one-point margin at half-time.
Jy Simpkin slots another for the Roos

It has been all North Melbourne for the last 10 minutes, but so many channces have been wasted by the blue and white. Until now, as Simpkin streaks through the 50 on the angle to slot a team-lifting goal.
That’s a big one with half-time approaching.
Charlie Spargo snaps one for the Roos!

There was a stink going on just off the ball as it came in and fell to Spargo. Mills and Curtis going after each other and ignoring the play, which led to a North Melbourne goal.
That’s a settler for North, who have swung momentum a little due to good defensive work. Swans struggling to get out of the back half at the moment.
Tom Papley snaps another! All Sydney now!

The Sydney midfield has found a way to get on top and the toll is being felt on the scoreboard.
That was a big win for Grundy against Xerri. His tap from that boundary throw in created the goal for Papley, who hit the ball at full speed and didn’t have to break stride. Brilliant stoppage goal.
Isaac Heeney puts the Swans in front!

And again, the umpires are copping the vitriol from the North fans. O’Sullivan was pinged holding the ball for apparently taking too long to get rid of the ball. Heeney had hold of his guernsey as O’Sullivan spun around a couple of times looking for an option. Sometimes they pin those “360” ones, and sometimes they don’t.
Somehow the Swans have taken the lead back. North couldn’t have done a whole lot more in this game but their big advantage is already gone.
Hayden McLean pulls the Swans even closer

The Roos fans will feel like the umps aren’t helping their cause here, but that free kick was there. Comben took his eye of the footy to try to block McLean out of that contest and was rightly penalised.
Big penalty to pay though as McLean goals from the top of the square to make it a one-point game.
